What the state charges, separately from us

These are government fees. They are the same wherever you buy your registered agent service, and we pass them through without a markup.

Forming something new

Formation is handled by our affiliated law firm.

Apex Business Law, PLLC forms Maine entities on a flat legal fee — $1,000 for a single member, $1,200 for two, $1,500 for three — plus $225 in Maine filing and expedite charges at cost. Registered agent service is separate and billed by us.

Already have entities elsewhere? Moving them costs nothing. We prepare the change filing and pay the state's change fee — currently $35 in Maine — start the switch.

If you hold property through a stack of LLCs, or you manage entities on behalf of clients, per-entity list pricing is the wrong shape. We price the book, put every entity on one renewal date, and give you one bill a year.

About billing

Are there setup fees?
No. The annual price is the price. There is no fee to start, no fee to cancel, and no fee to move an entity to us — we pay the state's change of agent fee ourselves.
What is billed 'at cost'?
State filing fees. When we file your annual report, the state's fee is passed through exactly as the state charges it, shown as its own line. We do not mark up government fees.
When am I billed?
The service fee is charged when you sign up and again on the same date each year. State filing fees are billed when the filing is actually made, so you are never paying in advance for a filing that has not happened.
What if I have entities in more than one state?
Each entity is priced by the state it is formed in, because the underlying obligations differ. If you have several, they can be put on a single renewal date so it is one bill a year.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time before your renewal date. We will stay on as agent until you appoint a replacement, because leaving an entity without an agent puts its standing at risk — but you will not be billed again.
Do you charge for change filings?
Compliance includes one address or officer change a year. Shield includes unlimited change filings. On any tier, the state's own filing fee is passed through at cost.
